PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project concerns the restoration and enhancement of the Ducal Palace of Reggio Emilia (Rivalta locality/site), built in 1740 commissioned by the Este Duchy and characterized by influences reminiscent of the Palace of Versailles.

The primary objective is the safeguarding of the site’s historical memory, maintaining its original footprint.

The restoration included the reconstruction of collapsed walls, utilizing local historical salvaged material where possible. In certain sections, a steel structure was employed, intended to be covered by ivy.

Due to the presence of water tables, remediation work and the construction of dispersion wells were carried out.

The entire annexed park (including the secret garden) was conceived as a space for recreational and sports activities.
