The intervention is part of a vast expansion and renewal program by Autostrade del Brennero, specifically focused on the Ala-Avio motorway junction (TN). The works include the refurbishment of the motorway station, with an increase in toll lanes from three to six, and the requalification of the Motorway Safety Service Center (CSA), including the construction of a dedicated car park for motorway users. A key element is the improvement of the local road network: the current junction with the forecourt will be replaced by a roundabout connecting to the S.P. 90, constructed over the “Biffis” canal using two steel-concrete composite bridges. This roundabout is essential for managing all inbound and outbound traffic from the station, the car park, and the CSA, thereby eliminating internal forecourt crossings. Additionally, the project includes the widening of the acceleration lane in the southbound carriageway, to support the use of the dynamic third lane. The entire program will be executed in multiple phases to ensure the continuous operation of motorway traffic.
