The project concerns the capacity and speed enhancement of the Sibari–Cosenza railway line (approximately 68.7 km in length), which is part of the Gioia Tauro – Taranto alternative freight route and serves as a connecting loop between the Tyrrhenian and Adriatic lines (Sicily–Puglia).

The intervention, assigned to Manelli Impresa Srl and located between Acri and Montalto Uffugo, focuses on track alignment correction and the reconstruction of the track infrastructure in single-track sections, with the aim of standardising characteristics and eliminating critical points.

The ancillary civil works include 9 hydraulic culverts, 2 vehicular underpasses, and 1 railway overpass, in addition to modifications to the road network.

The work schedule was tight and executed in phases, often during night hours or with very brief traffic interruptions, in order to keep the railway line operational.
