The project involves the reconversion of three former railway buildings dating back to the early 1930s, previously used for the repair of carriages and locomotives, into new and modern Trenitalia executive offices.

The intervention aims to create spaces of both regional and national significance. Three specific areas will be designated as Data Processing Center (CED) rooms or “star points,” from which part of the national railway network will be managed.

Externally, the general appearance of the buildings will be maintained, but the interiors will undergo a complete overhaul: independent three-story steel framed structures will be inserted inside each building to fully exploit the volume and recreate a modern subdivision of the spaces.

The existing walls will be stiffened, reinforced, and framed to ensure maximum anti-seismic safety, thereby bringing the buildings up to the highest safety and regulatory standards.
