PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design and construction of the new station of Rho Pero of Milan subway.

The new railway station comprises of six operational tracks, with 450m platforms partly covered by shelters. An entrance hall on the lower floor is directly connected to the Metro station (terminus of the MM1 Red Line) and the fair pavilions.

The station is structured on three levels. The train platforms are connected to the underground entrance hall through lifts and stairs (escalators and stationary). The underground entrance hall occupies an area of approximately 9.000 sq.m., of which 2.500 are intended for commercial activities. A second floor basement hosts a carpark (60 car-slot) and technological service spaces.

The station is equipped with a modern facility public information system (audio-visual messages) connected to the train traffic control and management system to give real-time updated information to the passengers.
