PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project involves the acquisition and the energy, building, and plant requalification of the property complex known as the “Glass Palace” (the abandoned former Provincial Palace in the historic center) to transform it into the new Rectorate headquarters and a section allocated to the Province. The intervention is fundamental for restoring value to the heart of the city and includes a major seismic retrofit of the building, with the structural strengthening of the foundations using micropiles and the reinforcement of the elevated structure with FRP systems for the reinforced concrete and steel reinforcements for the metallic part, which will also be decontaminated and protected with anti-rust and intumescent paint. The original footprint was restored with the reconstruction, adapted to seismic loads, of the four projecting volumes. The curtain wall will have a modern and elegant aesthetic impact, characterized by Corten red cladding on the projecting volumes and gray with glass panels on the rest of the structure. Finally, the thermal systems will be autonomous, with direct expansion and heat recovery heating and cooling units located on the roof and a distribution system utilizing vertical shafts and false ceilings.
