The project involves the extension of the Genoa Metro line through the expansion of two sections: Brin to Canepari and Brignole to Martinez.

The Brin–Canepari section, approximately 750 meters long, includes the construction of a viaduct that will connect the current Brin terminus to the future Canepari station in Piazza B. Palli, in addition to the creation of a shunting spur for train turnaround.

As a strategic undertaking within an urban setting, the project is considered “sensitive.” For this reason, maximum attention has been paid to environmental aspects to mitigate the impact of the works (monitored through continuous environmental campaigns). Among the most impactful activities are the demolition of a three-story building in Via Ludovico Ariosto and the demolition of an existing spur line. The complexity of the works has been managed through constant public outreach and the adoption of technical solutions for the mitigation of noise, dust, and vibrations.
