The project involves the demolition and reconstruction of the bridges on the SS 195 “Sulcitana” State Road in the municipality of Capoterra (CA)—one of the main road arteries in Southern Sardinia—at the Rio San Girolamo (new span 132m) and Rio Masone Ollastu (new span 41m) crossings, in addition to the planimetric and altimetric adjustment of the intermediate road section. These works are essential to bring the bridges into compliance with the updated span and hydraulic clearance requirements, mandated by the Autonomous Region of Sardinia following the 2008 flood event and the subsequent intervention for the channelization and safety upgrade of the streams from upstream to the mouth. The comprehensive project also includes the construction of two hydraulic box culverts, seven reinforced concrete walls, an open-air channel of 230meters, the creation of approximately 1,500meters of new Type C roadway with a road level raise of approximately 4meters and the introduction of three new roundabouts, along with approximately 1,000meters of new infrastructure dedicated to local traffic.
