PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Lazio Stop is a strategic project within the Palermo Rail Hub (Nodo ferroviario di Palermo), aimed at enhancing urban connections and modernizing infrastructure for a more sustainable and inclusive service.
The station will be built on an area undergoing redevelopment, which was previously occupied by a fuel station and car garages. It will connect to existing infrastructure, including the Malaspina tunnels (which will be partially demolished and rebuilt) and a new TBM tunnel.
The Lazio Stop will be entirely underground, structured across five levels, and feature a modern design with metallic canopies and local stone cladding. Accessibility is guaranteed by Loges-Vet-Evolution tactile paving, elevators, and escalators.
The project is designed according to high standards of safety and technology, including advanced fire suppression systems (such as gas extinguishers and water curtains), smoke extraction ventilation systems, and an integrated video surveillance system, in full compliance with European regulations.
