7th March, 2017: CMC celebrates its 116th anniversary

Auguri a tutti noi!
La storia è nota.
Il 7 marzo 1901 35 muratori firmarono il primo atto costitutivo di quella che nei decenni è divenuta la più grande cooperativa di costruzioni d’Europa e la quarta impresa in Italia.
In oltre un secolo di storia si sono alternati momenti di sviluppo a momenti di difficoltà.
Il 2017 si apre con l’approvazione di un Piano Industriale che esprime, la soddisfazione per i risultati conseguiti in questi anni in cui, nonostante le difficoltà, siamo cresciuti e abbiamo mantenuto il nostro posizionamento nel mercato e la consapevolezza che la strada tracciata va nella giusta direzione.
I bond, il mercato estero, le alleanze, le specializzazioni, la valorizzazione e lo sviluppo delle risorse (umane e non solo finanziarie) sono le vie da seguire.
Sviluppo e futuro sono le parole chiave che vorrei consegnare quale leit motiv dei prossimi anni.
Pochi giorni fa abbiamo premiato i figli dei nostri soci e dipendenti che hanno partecipato al concorso artistico MY CMC. A loro abbiamo chiesto di immaginare la CMC del futuro e loro ci hanno regalato immagini di un futuro spaziale.
La Cooperativa oggi compie 116 anni ma i suoi passi sono mossi dal dinamismo e dalla curiosità di un’anima giovane.
L’impegno per il prossimo futuro sarà tener fede alla mission storica di CMC: salvaguardare l’impresa e il lavoro di migliaia di persone, traguardare nuovi orizzonti di crescita senza sottrarsi alla nostra identità, alla nostra storia e lasciare alle generazioni future quello straordinario patrimonio che le generazioni passate hanno lasciato a noi.

Happy Birthday to all of us!
We all know the story:
On the 7th of March, 1901 thirty-five construction workers signed the first articles of incorporation of what over the decades has become the largest European cooperative in this sector and the fourth biggest company in Italy.
In the course of more than one century, moments of progress have alternated with difficult periods.
The year 2017 has started with the approval of a Business Plan which shows our satisfaction for the results achieved in the past few years; in spite of the difficulties, we have managed to grow and keep our position on the market, remaining steady in our confidence that we are moving in the right direction.
Bonds, foreign markets, partnerships, specializations, enhancement and development of resources (human as well as financial): these are the cornerstones of our approach.
Development and future are the keywords I’d like to use as leitmotif for the next few years.
Just a few days ago we gave out awards to the children of our shareholders and employees who participated in the artistic competition MY CMC. We asked them to imagine CMC in the future and they produced images of a future in outer space.
Our Cooperative celebrates its 116th anniversary, but its steps are still guided by the dynamism and curiosity of someone young at heart.
Our commitment for the near future will be to remain true to CMC’s historical mission: preserving the cooperative and thus the efforts made by thousands of people, reaching new horizons of growth without neglecting our identity, our history; all of this we plan to do in order to preserve for future generations the extraordinary heritage which past generations have left to us.
