An important goal achieved in Laos

For the RCC dam on the river Nam Gnouang, that proud and ambitious shows itself with its 70 meters height and 500 meters length on the ridge, it’s now time to start “working”. The 6th day of July 2011 the massive bulkhead of the “Bottom Outlet’ has been closed and so officially started the flooding of the catchment area.

This is the first delicate phase of the reservoir impoundment to be maintained uninterrupted until completion. This means that the water level will rise gradually, in parallel with the completion work of the dam that will provide three more intermediate stages.

The goal achieved is an important contractual milestone reached in advance of contract schedule and a moment of pride and satisfaction for all the personnel involved in the construction of the Theun Hinboun hydroelectric project in Laos.
