PROJECT DESCRIPTION

A real covered market, entirely built in wood, representing the French food culture. This is France’s Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015.The distinctive features of the pavilion, which opens up onto a 3,592 square-meter area, are just the large market – located in the central part of the building – and the garden representing France’s agricultural diversity – in the external part –, which displays cereals, vegetables, mixed and very specific cultures.
From a design and symbolic standpoint, the pavilion represents a ‘portion’ of France land, arranged upside down and built using over 1,200 cubic metres of fir coming from the Jura region, and can be entirely dismantled and reused.
