“SOA” Qualification for the execution of Public Works [according to the Italian Law]

According to the Italian law, Italian contractors are allowed to submit their tenders for public works only if an independent body (“SOA”) certifies that they have adequate experience and resources for the design and execution of the works to be tendered.

Such SOA certificate indicates the categories and the amounts of works in respect of which each contractor is adequately qualified.

According to the evaluation given in this certificate Cmc is allowed to undertake the design and construction of any kind of work without any limit of amount in 17 categories.

 

Qualification Certificate as General Contractor

On 16 February 2006 the Italian Ministry of Infrastructures and Transportation issued to Cmc the Qualification Certificate for the execution of Public Works as General Contractor. According to the evaluation given in this certificate, Cmc is allowed to execute public works with value exceeding 700 million Euro that represents the highest class for Italian contractors.

 

Quality Management System

The Quality Management System of Cmc was assessed and registered since 7 July 2000 by SGS ICS Srl as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001/UNI EN ISO 9001 – Ed. 1994. On 6 September 2011 the Quality Management System of Cmc has been assessed and registered by SGS Italia SpA as meeting the requirements of ISO 9001:2008.

 

Environmental Management System

The Environmental Management System of Cmc was assessed and registered on 8 February 2008 by SGS ICS Srl as meeting the requirements of ISO 14001/UNI EN ISO 14001:2004. The obtained recognition represents an element of distinction in the survey of Italian construction industry being a new voluntary tool conscientiously adopted and not imposed by any kind of market rules.

 

Safety and Health Management System

Cmc Safety and Health Management System of Cmc was assessed and registered on 27 January 2009 by SGS Italia as meeting the requirements of OHSAS 18001:2007.

This certifications completes the merging of Safety and Health Management System with Quality (ISO 9001) and Environment (ISO 14001) Management Systems.
